Day 2 in Lhasa

Ready to board the flight to Lhasa

After a night in Chengdu, where some of them were game enough to try the local street food (duck’s heads and chicken’s claws were amongst the delicacies on offer) the LMAX Exchange Everest Rugby challenge team has arrived in Lhasa and are en route to their hotel.

The Himalayas

The team were treated to an amazing view of the Himalayas as they flew into Lhasa. At 3,600 metres they have definitely noticed a change in the oxygen levels, with some of them experiencing tingling fingers and shortness of breath.  Luckily they will have some time to acclimatise to this altitude before moving on up.

Lhasa, which is surprisingly warm at 13- 14 degrees, is a busy city and they have caught a glimpse of the Potala palace which they will be visiting tomorrow.

Spirits are very high and the mood in the team is buoyant.
